Mahogany Soulz are a London party band playing funk, soul, jazz, and blues since 2017, with fans across the UK and a diary of festivals, weddings, pubs, and parties. Lead singer Kocoa Brown is a music student who writes in her spare time and handles all the promotion herself. The band has no agent, so word of mouth does the heavy lifting, which means being out there constantly and giving people a reason to talk. Her own measure of a good night is when strangers in the crowd make friends with each other.
Her posters are built deliberately, not decorated. She starts with the message and decides how much information belongs on the page, one date or several, then works out the hierarchy: the event name goes at the top in the largest size, with dates and venue a step smaller beneath it. Only then do the visual elements go on. She adds as many faces as she can, usually her own band members, and stays in mahogany tones, oranges and browns, to match the name. The finished posters get printed and put up in local pubs every week, on campus, and in the rehearsal rooms she books. Video templates are her favourite, because things that move get engagement.
You can build yours the same way. Start from band poster templates, which already have the text hierarchy Kocoa describes worked out, then put your own photos in place of the stock images. Add movement with video templates for the online version, and Resize the printed poster into a post so the pub wall and the feed carry the same artwork.
